  • 2 Steps to lock WhatsApp on your iPhone to stop people watching you

WhatsApp is important for day-to-day conversations about work, family, entertainment, hobbies, and more. Needless to say, there are many things in most people’s WhatsApp chats that they would never want anyone to see. These can be personal photos, financial data, logins, and passwords, or something completely different. However, telephones are passed between friends and family and are sometimes forgotten in colleagues’ workplaces, in other people’s homes, or even in public places.

In most cases, there is no harm. However, sometimes, some people can grab them and flip through your WhatsApp or other content. Most people hardly have any security feature to block everyone out.

In addition, if you often use your phone together, then most likely everyone knows the “pattern” that will unlock it. However, there are two ways to keep the contents of your iPhone safe from prying eyes.

If you enable these features then, even if you hand over the iPhone to others, you can actually lock your WhatsApp in a way that no one can open this messenger app. You can lock your WhatsApp with secondary security features and these are Touch ID and Face ID.

  1. WhatsApp says, “You must use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock WhatsApp. You can still reply to messages from notifications and answer calls if WhatsApp is locked
  2. WhatsApp says, “In order to use Touch ID or Face ID for WhatsApp, you must first enable it in iPhone Settings.”

  • Open WhatsApp Settings.
  • Tap Account > Privacy > Screen Lock.
  • Turn on Require Touch ID or Require Face ID.
  • Select the length of time WhatsApp can be on standby mode before Touch ID or Face ID is required.

How to Disable Touch ID either Face ID on your iPhone
