Had The Courage To Challenge Me

AC Milan has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be in a quarantine period. The 38-year-old must isolate himself after seeing that it is revealed that he is a carrier of the coronavirus, although he responded to the news in typical style.

“Yesterday I was negative for Covid and today positive. He has no symptoms.

Covid had the courage to challenge me. Bad idea, ”Ibrahimovic wrote on Twitter.

The enigmatic Swedish striker is the only member of the San Siro playing and coaching staff to have tested positive.

A forced pause means Ibrahimovic will not participate in Milan’s next matches.

A statement from the Serie A club on its official website read: “Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for Covid-19 after a second round of smear tests prior to tonight’s Europa League qualifying match against the Norwegian team.

“The club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been quickly quarantined at home.

“All the other team members and staff tested negative.”

Ibrahimovic has enjoyed a productive start for the 2020-21 campaign with Milan. He has made two appearances so far, scoring three goals.

He opened his account for the season in a Europa League qualifier against Shamrock Rovers, before pocketing a Serie A double against Bologna.

The self-proclaimed “Benjamin Button” of modern football had been looking to kick from that point, having agreed to extend his second spell with the Rossoneri.

He said after finding the goal against Bologna: “I’m fine, I’m working, this is the second official match.

“We won, he could have scored more goals. If he was 20 years old, he would have scored another two. I am like Benjamin Button, I was born old and I die young. “
