The number of global brands partnering with the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon increased on Wednesday when the award-winning airline, Kenya Airways, joined the rich list of partners.
With Access Bank as the title sponsor, the rich list of partners includes 7UP Bottling Company, Eko Atlantic City, Eko Hotels, Revolution Plus Property, Bet9ja and Skechers, the Lagos Center of Excellence is the host city.
The deal to bring Kenya Airways aboard the award-winning Access Bank Lagos City Marathon was negotiated by Nilayo Sports Management Limited, project consultant and CEO, Bukola Olopade.
In a statement signed by Olukayode Thomas, Director of Communications and Media Access, Lagos City Bank, Olopade said: “We are delighted to have Kenya Airways as the official airline partner of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, a event that has redefined the trajectory of races in Africa and in the rest of the world.
“This is a partnership that comes at the right time because the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has positioned Lagos as a global marathon destination and that is fostered by organizations like Kenya Airways who value top-notch quality and delivery, which is our signature in all our careers. ”

The sixth edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, a prestigious World Athletics Silver Label road race, is scheduled for February 13, 2021.
The event that normally welcomes more than 100,000 runners from around the world each year, including the best elite runners, however due to Covid-19, it will only accept 10,000 runners to participate in the next edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
