Leeds United’s longest unbeaten streak in the Premier League (PL) since 2001 ended last weekend (W3, D3) with a 2-0 loss at Brighton, undermining their aspirations to finish in the first half. Not only that, but that loss also means that 11 of their 15 PL losses this season saw them concede more than 2 goals.

The ‘whites’ could get back on track here given their recent home record of just one loss in seven PL games (W3, D3). Surprisingly, they conceded only three times in those seven aforementioned home games, and each of those three came before HT. At the other end of the field, it’s in the second period that they normally come to life, scoring 68.18% of their league goals at home after the break.

It has been a steady start for interim manager Ryan Mason at Tottenham Hotspur, with a tight 1-0 loss in the EFL Cup final that gave him his only loss in three games (W2). This decent start will be put to the test here though, given that the ‘Spurs’ have won just two of their previous eight PL matches on the road (G2, D2, L4). They scored exactly two goals in each of the last three of those games, four of which came before the 35th minute.

History suggests that Leeds could be the perfect opponent for the visitors given that they have won five of their last six PL matches against them (D1). Three of the last four wins in that sequence also came “to zero.”

Players to score: Leeds’ Jack Harrison has scored seven goals in PL, the most recent two coming at home and before the 15th minute. In better shape is Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, who is now one of only three players in the PL this season who has scored and assists more than 10 goals (16 goals, 10 assists); the last three contributions from him came after HT.
