The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), has circumvented the federal government’s ban on Twitter by logging in to deactivate his personal account on Tuesday.
However, controls by the president and other key government officials remained active.
Malami has now logged into the microblogging site and has deactivated his account.
The AGF took to its Facebook page on Tuesday, posting a photo and caption that read: “My Twitter account disabled.”
However, there is confusion as to how Malami accessed his account, as the Twitter URL has been suspended by all Internet service providers (ISPs) in the country.
