Imo State Deputy Governor Professor Placid Njoku has denied reports that he has resigned.
Njoku, in a statement from his chief press secretary, Ozioma Ukwuoma, insisted that the reports are not one iota of truth.
“While it remains our practice to ignore such unsubstantiated stories, the need to bring the truth to the attention of concerned citizens of Imo has necessitated this rebuttal.
“This story is not an iota of truth, but it is a mere invention of the imagination of those who work against the government and people of the state of Imo,” reads part of the statement.
Njoku insisted that he enjoys “a strong working relationship” with the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, members of the state executive council and the state legislature.
Furthermore, he urged the people of Imo to ignore these unfounded rumors and continue to support the peace and development of the state.
