Leader of the Biafra Indigenous People Nnamdi Kanu,  IPOB, has promised that the group will resist the men of the Nigerian Police, NPF, in the southeast.

Kanu made the comment as he accused DCP-led Police Intelligence Response Team Inspector General Abba Kyari of killing the cultists and labeling them as Eastern Security Network, ESN operatives.

The IPOB leader maintained that the ESN operatives were not cultists and would never be killed.

Kanu, who spoke through IPOB Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, said the group would not tolerate victimization of Igbo youth by security officers.

Kanu accused Abba Kyari and his men of invading and burning some communities in Imo state.

In a Powerful statement, Kanu said: “It is unfortunate that DCP Abba Kyari and company are killing members of a cult and forcing them to respond to ESN, the man they are displaying as ESN is not our member and can never be.

“Two months ago, the two groups of cultists fought and killed each other and burned two members to ash, but unfortunately one of them was captured in Owerri by Abba Kyari and his group and labeled as ESN and a unknown gunman.

“Nigerian security agencies led by DCP Abba Kyari have invaded three communities in Mbaitoli LGA in Imo state and burned their properties worth millions of naira dollars.”

The IPOB leader insisted that the ESNs are stationed in the southeastern forests in their fight against “terrorists and murderous herdsmen.”

He added: “These atrocities have been going on for too long, but we will no longer tolerate them.

“We promise you hell for this cowardly act of victimizing innocent Igbo youth.”
