The Tsamiya Bakin Gada on the Kano-Kwanar Huguma-Kari Highway was recently damaged by a severe storm.
“The extent of the damage became a serious threat to the safety of motorists on the road. The bridge would be closed as of August 30, 2021. Traffic would be diverted to alternate routes in Jigawa state, such as Birnin Kudu (College of Nursing crossing, through Kengere village, via Dutse, Kwana Huguma Road), ”said Mr. Mato.
He noted that the detour would be a temporary solution pending the completion of the reconstruction of the damaged bridge “In line with this, the FRSC wishes to inform the general automotive public to prevent a disaster due to a possible collapse,” the statement added.
However, Mr. Mato recommended that motorists traveling the route take note of this and drive carefully on the alternate route He assured motorists of FRSC’s commitment to ensuring a safe traffic flow and requested the support of sister agencies.
