Singer Mayorkun Disclosed Why he didn’t feature Davido on his new album

Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer, and recording artist Mayorkun explained why he did not include Davido on his new album Mayorkun signed to Davido Music Worldwide, DMW Records in 2016 and has been releasing popular songs ever since.

It looks like his contract hasn’t been renewed this year as his new album hasn’t been promoted by DMW and doesn’t have a logo of its own, then asked why Davido was not featured on his new album, Back in Office, Mayorkun replied: “Most people don’t know-how making an album works; sometimes they are groups of songs that you had a long time ago and that you just compiled.

“The songs that we have together, I don’t think they are for this album, they are meant for a later time “Davido and I have songs together, and I didn’t take his song out of my album, Mayorkun said this while speaking with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu at the audition party for his new album, Mayor in Office, which Davido attended.

Recall that after graduating from primary and secondary school, Mayorkun entered the University of Lagos and received a BA in Accounting. After graduating from university and the National Youth Service (NYSC), Mayorkun took a job at a reputable bank.

His career as an artist began professionally when he quit his job at the bank and on the same day signed a contract with Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), headed by Davido. Mayorkun signed to the label after Davido came across a short video of Mayorkun where he sang a Davido song.

Ever since he was signed to DMW, Mayorkun has grown steadily playing hits in a row. His first hit song “Eleko”, produced by Puffy Tee, received a visual overhaul that garnered over a million views on YouTube in its first week of release.
