Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially announced the appointment of Bruno Lage as their new manager.
The statement read in part, “Bruno Lage has been appointed as the new Wolves first team head coach.
“The Portuguese joins after spending 18 months at the helm of Benfica, whom he led to the Primeira Liga title in his first season in office.”
In reaction to his appointment, Lage told the club’s website: “First of all, I am very happy. It is a great opportunity. I am very happy because I have returned to this country and be the manager of a great team.
“It is a team and a club that wants to make history and have the opportunity to compete in the Premier League. So I’m happy, excited, with a great ambition to do great things for this club. “
