Tottenham vs Wolves Premier League
Considered contenders for the Premier League (PL) title at one point, Tottenham’s Champions League aspirations have faded after having collected just 11 of the last 24 points on offer (W3, D2, L3). Losing focus at the end has cost them, as the 75th minute onwards is the only 15-minute time period in the LP in which they have been outscored by their opponents (7-12).

It’s been Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur at home recently, with Gareth Bale, Harry Kane, and Son Heung-Min scoring 16 of their 17 goals in PL’s last six games here (G5, L1), during a period that posted a healthy average of 3.67 total goals per game. Although having hit the wood 20 times in this PL campaign in all places, more than they have done in all but one season since 2006/07, shows that they have not quite done it.

The Wolves, who are ten points worse at this stage than last season, are still looking for a result in the top half. A 2-1 comeback win against Brighton proved their hunger, as only Manchester United (54) have recovered more points from lost positions than Wolves (51) since their return to PL.

However, slow starts have hampered Wolves, and they have scored before HT in just two of their previous 12 away games (G2, D5, L5), while only doomed Sheffield United have scored fewer PL goals on average than the Wolves’ 0.88 per trip. However, write off the Lobos at your own risk, as they have won two trips in a row to Tottenham, contributing to the home team not winning any H2Hs for over a decade.

Players to Score: Gareth Bale has scored all nine of his PL goals this season in five home games (G5), including a hat-trick last time here. Meanwhile, Adama Traoré’s seven PL goals for Wolves have been scored in the second half.

Interesting stats: the Wolves are the only team yet to lose by scoring the first goal of this PL campaign (G8, D2).
