The mid-table Wolverhampton Wanderers blew an advantage last time in their 1-1 draw with local rivals West Brom, but that result means they remain the only Premier League (PL) team still losing after score first (G8, D2). However, the overall form is not very good with just two wins out of nine (D3, L4), and surprisingly they scored just two goals in the first half during that run.

Back in Molineux, the hosts will try to bounce back from their recent 4-0 loss to Burnley, their biggest loss at PL’s home since March 2012. Fortunately for the Wolves, they have not failed to score back-to-back in the local league. matchups since January 2019. Any win could be adjusted, though given that five of their previous six wins at PL’s home came by a one-goal margin, while four went ‘to zero’.

Brighton & Hove Albion significantly eased relegation fears by beating Leeds 2-0 to secure just their third PL win of the campaign by starting as pre-match favorites (D8, L5). This result also ended a four-game winless streak (D2, L2) and gave them an impressive clean sheet in PL 12 (35.29%), a figure surpassed by only four other teams.

Graham Potter’s team has scored more points away from home (20) than at Amex Stadium this season (17), although goals are often a rare commodity. Eight of their 11 previous PL away games came under 2.5. On the subject of goals, the first could be key given that the ‘Gaviotas’ have secured only one point of distance after conceding the first goal (D1, L6).

Players to score: Wolves midfielder Rúben Neves has scored three of his five goals in PL this season from the penalty spot, including in the last H2H. Meanwhile, forward Danny Welbeck has scored three of Brighton’s last six goals and has scored three times in six H2H appearances against Wolves.

Important statistic: Before this weekend, only two teams from Europe’s top five divisions have drawn more league games than Brighton this season (13). The last four H2Hs also finished tied!
