A 37-year-old South African woman, Gosiame Thamara Sithole, reportedly gave birth to ten babies at a time in Johannesburg, South Africa, breaking a record previously set by a Malian woman, Halima Cissé, of eight babies.
According to a report on Tuesday, Sithole and her husband, Teboho Tsotetsi, were expecting eight children after their doctor’s earlier report.
Sithole gave birth via caesarean section at a Pretoria hospital on Monday.
Teboho Tsotetsi, who already had three children, expressed his joy for the safety of his wife and his children.
According to him, the pregnancy was natural, debunking the rumor that his wife conceived through in vitro fertilization, IVF.
